Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 12, 2026

1. Scope

This accessibility statement covers the publicly accessible marketing website operated by Scanara at scanara.io (available in English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Polish, and Portuguese).

The authenticated SaaS platform (app.scanara.io) has been open to consumers (§ 13 BGB) since May 2026 (B2B + EU consumer posture) and therefore falls within the scope of § 1 (3) BFSG (services provided to consumers). Scanara currently qualifies as a microenterprise under § 3 (3) BFSG and is exempt from the BFSG requirements for services; it applies WCAG 2.1 AA (EN 301 549) voluntarily. A separate accessibility statement for app.scanara.io is published at scanara.io/legal/accessibility-app (§ 14 BFSG).

2. Conformity Status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA per EN 301 549 due to the non-conformances listed in section 3. The accessibility requirements follow from § 3 (1) BFSG in conjunction with the BFSG implementing regulation (BFSGV); conformance with EN 301 549 establishes the presumption of accessibility under § 4 BFSG.

An automated audit (axe-core via Playwright) and a manual keyboard walkthrough of the top pages were conducted in May 2026. Critical issues identified were remediated (details: docs/compliance/accessibility-bfsg.md).

Note: Scanara currently qualifies as a microenterprise providing services (§ 3 (3) BFSG: fewer than ten employees and annual turnover not exceeding EUR 2 million) and is therefore exempt from the BFSG accessibility requirements for services. This statement is published voluntarily and maintained to BFSG standards.

3. Non-accessible Content and Known Limitations

  • Color contrast: Some secondary text elements ("muted-foreground" tokens) may fall below a 4.5:1 contrast ratio in light mode. Affected areas include explanatory subtexts in pricing cards and footer navigation.
  • Blog and learn pages: Long-form content pages have not been fully tested with a screen reader. Semantic issues (missing intermediate headings, redundant links) may be present.
  • Decorative SVG elements: Some background SVG graphics may lack aria-hidden="true" and could be exposed to assistive technologies.

4. Preparation and Last Review

This statement was prepared on May 11, 2026. The last accessibility review was also conducted in May 2026. The next review is scheduled for April 2027.
