Our Mission
The EU AI Act sets requirements for providers and deployers of AI systems in the EU. We built Scanara to make that work part of the development workflow: tooling that treats the regulation as code.
How we started
Our Story
Scanara is built by Scanara UG in Dachau, Germany. Founder Thilo set out to build the compliance platform he wished existed: one that fits the developer workflow, scans both code and documentation, and turns requirements into testable checks.

Every finding names the EU AI Act article it relates to. Our methodology page describes how rules are built and verified. Scanara’s engines are rule-based, not machine-learning models.
Regulation-mapped
Precision
Rules are generated from the text of the Regulation and tested with fixtures, including negative fixtures that must produce no findings. We publish no precision or false-positive rate yet; the methodology page says what is and is not measured.

Accessibility
Scanara works in the tools developers already use: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines and pull requests. Results appear in plain language. Legal questions still need qualified counsel.

Which EU AI Act articles does Scanara scan for?
In Scanara’s coverage map, 66 of the 113 articles have at least one automated rule (24 August 2026 snapshot: 43 through code rules, 23 through document rules). The other articles have no automated rule. Some bind EU institutions or Member States, not operators, and are out of scope by design. The methodology page lists measured figures with their date.
What programming languages and documentation formats does Scanara support?
For code, Scanara detects ML framework patterns, with a confidence level per language tier: Python, JavaScript and TypeScript (1.00); Go and Rust (0.95); C++, C, C#, Swift and Kotlin (0.90); R and Julia (0.75, experimental, with a higher false-positive rate). For documents, Scanara checks compliance documentation in English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Polish and Portuguese.
When do I need to comply with the EU AI Act?
Scanara supports your preparation for each date. Meeting the obligations remains your organisation’s responsibility.
Scanara prepares evidence from your repositories
Scanara reads your connected GitHub repositories and runs rule-based scans for standard AI and machine-learning patterns. It can miss non-standard code. Separately, it generates draft documentation from templates and your assessment answers as evidence for your compliance work. You make the classification decisions.
