Accessibility Statement – App
Last updated: June 12, 2026
1. Scope
This accessibility statement covers the authenticated SaaS platform operated by Scanara at app.scanara.io (dashboard, settings, billing, and related features).
Scanara is a software-as-a-service platform that organizations use to check their AI systems and code repositories against requirements of the EU AI Act, run assessments, and produce compliance dossiers. The service is used via a web browser and requires a user account.
A separate accessibility statement for the publicly accessible marketing website at scanara.io is published at scanara.io/legal/accessibility.
2. Conformity Status
This platform is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA per EN 301 549 due to the non-conformances listed in section 3. The accessibility requirements follow from § 3 (1) BFSG in conjunction with the BFSG implementing regulation (BFSGV); conformance with EN 301 549 establishes the presumption of accessibility under § 4 BFSG.
An automated audit of key pages (axe-core via Playwright) and a manual keyboard walkthrough of the billing area were conducted in May 2026. Critical issues found (missing skip-link) were remediated. A full manual keyboard and screen reader audit of all dashboard features is scheduled for Q3 2026. Until then, the limitations listed in section 3 apply.
Details: docs/compliance/accessibility-bfsg.md (Part 2 — Authenticated Platform).
Note: Scanara currently qualifies as a microenterprise providing services (§ 3 (3) BFSG: fewer than ten employees and annual turnover not exceeding EUR 2 million) and is therefore exempt from the BFSG accessibility requirements for services. This statement is published voluntarily and maintained to BFSG standards, as the platform has been open to EU consumers (§ 13 BGB) since May 2026 and the requirements would become binding once Scanara exceeds the microenterprise thresholds.
3. Non-accessible Content and Known Limitations
- Colour contrast (glassmorphism design): Some secondary text elements ("muted-foreground" tokens) may fall below a 4.5:1 contrast ratio in dark mode and on transparent backgrounds. Review planned: Q3 2026.
- Full screen reader audit pending: Dashboard features (AI system management, scan results, compliance assessments) have not yet been fully tested with a screen reader. Semantic issues may be present.
- Stripe Checkout form: The payment form is provided by the third-party provider Stripe as an embedded iframe. Scanara relies on Stripe's published accessibility conformance information and reviews it regularly. Accessibility issues in the checkout can be reported to support@scanara.io; we will forward them to Stripe.
- Decorative SVG elements: Some background SVG graphics may lack
aria-hidden="true".
4. Preparation and Last Review
This statement was prepared on 31 May 2026. The last accessibility review was also conducted in May 2026 (automated axe audit + manual keyboard walkthrough of billing area). The next full review is scheduled for Q3 2026.
